| Dalton has built bridges, both figuratively and literally, with the neighbouring communities, and has become an important source of employment for them. Dalton doesn’t simply provide jobs, however, it provides opportunities. The people of Dalton are important to the functioning of the reserve and Dalton Trust takes an active interest in the community. Dalton’s policy of employing local people and investing in them through skills training in the workplace has lead to a number of exciting projects, from the provision |

of Environmental Services to a collaboration with KOOP Design making furniture from invasive alien timber.
Dalton also supports the local traditional Zulu dance troupe. They are a hugely popular act among visitors to the reserve, and are now magnificently attired thanks to a grant from the Trust. They have recently won top honours in the annual KwaZulu-Natal traditional dance championships. |
